·From classrooms to capital markets, SGX launches unique initiative to bring capital markets to life for the next generation

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, Singapore Exchange (SGX Group) has launched its inaugural SGX Capital Markets Conversations for You(th) – an initiative to inspire the next generation of talent to explore the dynamic world of capital markets.

With its central role at the heart of Singapore and the international financial ecosystem, SGX will bring together industry leaders and market professionals across the capital markets value chain – to give aspiring youth a rare and up-close look at how capital markets work and why they matter.   

The event, to be held on 20 and 27 June at SGX Centre, will host 300 students aged between 17 and 19 years old, for two immersive one-day sessions. Through interactive games, panel discussions, and career exploration activities, participants will gain firsthand insights into how capital markets shape economies, careers, and personal financial futures.

A key highlight of the programme is the F.I.R.E.side (Financial Independence, Retire Early) chats – open and candid dialogues with CEOs, SGX Group leaders, as well as senior professionals from listed companies, asset managers and law firms. 

These sessions aim to spark the youth's curiosity and will revolve around three key themes:  

     1.Investing for Growth and Jobs – how capital markets fuel innovation and create employment.

     2.Wealth Creation – how individuals can grow their wealth through smart investing.

     3.Building Trust in the Ecosystem – how strong safeguards and governance keep markets safe and secure.

Beyond learning, youth attendees will enjoy hands-on experiences, collect exclusive memorabilia, and engage with speakers in a casual setting. The event also aims to elevate financial literacy and showcase the wide spectrum of roles, skills and career pathways within the capital markets ecosystem.
