TEDA Holds China-Russia Industrial Matchmaking Event to Boost Cooperation in Four Fields
From June 12th to 13th, the “2025 Russian Enterprises Tianjin Tour – A Closer Look at TEDA and Its Industries” was held in TEDA. Guided by the TEDA Administrative Commission and hosted by the One-Stop Overseas Service Base in Northern China (TEDA), the event invited over 50 Russian enterprises engaging in energy and resources, information technology and services, finance and investment, and commerce and trade. It also attracted over 100 high-quality enterprises from TEDA's intelligent manufacturing and chemical new materials sectors. Through roundtable discussion, on-site visits, and face-to-face connections, it aimed to further deepen China-Russia industrial cooperation and promote economic and trade cooperation between the two sides as well as expand international markets.
Roundtable Discussion on Exploring New Industrial Cooperation Opportunities
A roundtable discussion was held on June 12th, joined by the EMBA Russian Science and Trade Entrepreneurs Delegation organized by the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and relevant departments of TEDA, including TEDA Steering Office of Investment Promotion, Nangang Industry Promotion Office, TEDA Office of Administrative Services, and the One-Stop Overseas Service Base in Northern China (TEDA).
During the discussion, the person-in-charge of TEDA Steering Office of Investment Promotion introduced the regional development and industrial characteristics of TEDA and welcomed the Russian delegation. As one of China's first batch of national-level development zones, TEDA always stands on the front-line of opening up in North China. In 2024, TEDA achieved a GDP of 258.1 billion yuan. Its industrial output value of businesses over designated scale hit 544.25 billion yuan, accounting for 1/4 and 1/2 of Tianjin and Tianjin Binhai New Area's total respectively. He emphasized that with 40 years of experience in serving foreign-invested enterprises, TEDA will provide strong support for China-Russia enterprise cooperation.
Alexey Petrovich Kuznetsov, the person-in-charge of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, stated that the visiting enterprises cover a wide range of industrial fields like oil & gas exploring and drilling, and intelligent equipment. He also expressed admiration for China's development achievements and Tianjin's modern port, looking forward to promoting in-depth exchanges and further cooperation between Russian and Tianjin enterprises through this visit.
The person-in-charge of Tianjin Nangang Industrial Zone also highlighted its unique advantages and development plans in chemical new materials fields.
During the interactive session, Russian entrepreneurs showed strong interest in TEDA's industrial policies and business environment. They had in-depth consultations regarding investment cooperation opportunities, and TEDA's relevant officials provided on-site responses to all inquiries.
After the discussion, the Russian entrepreneurs visited the Sinopec Tianjin Nangang Ethylene Project and a project of Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry Group. These projects fully demonstrated the strength of high-end chemical industry in Tianjin and even China. During the visit, the Russian enterprise representatives frequently paused to observe, showing great interest in the projects'green process technology and intelligent level. They also highly praised the development achievements of Tianjin's green petrochemical industry.
On June 13th, the inaugural International Industry Development Matchmaking Event of the One-Stop Overseas Service Base in Northern China (TEDA) -- the China-Russia Connectivity & SCO Cooperation Forum on Energy, Manufacturing and Technology was held at Baoxin Building, TEDA, Tianjin. Over 200 Chinese and Russian enterprises and institutions gathered to have in-depth exchanges in four major fields, including energy transformation, high-end manufacturing, digital infrastructure, and green agriculture, exploring new paths for cooperative development. TEDA's relevant person-in-charge said that a special service mechanism would be established to precisely connect businesses and ensure the implementation of projects.
The successful event not only established an exchange and cooperation platform between Chinese and Russian enterprises, but also showed a concret practice of the Belt and Road initiative. TEDA will take this event as an opportunity to continuously deepen cooperation with Russia and promote high-quality regional development.
