2025 Finance For Security, Resilience And Prosperity
Following the success of Cityforum’s 2024 ‘Towards a blueprint for Resilience in 2035: Economy, infrastructure, skills and intelligence’ programme, we are delighted to announce that a second resilience agenda is now under development, with the theme ‘Finance for National Security, Resilience and Prosperity’.
The sessions of the day will consider:
♦ The UK and the social contract with its citizens
♦ The essential requirements for profits and long-term sustainability
♦ Security, prosperity and resilience for the whole nation
The event is planned to take place just after the Spending Review and with the government’s focus on growth, this will be an important theme to consider in 2025.
The agenda includes a variety of questions – an ageing population; immigration challenges and opportunities; the chronic savings shortage in the UK and the implications of this; will pension contributions need to double, and what is the case for the consolidation of pension funds?; how to make the UK attractive to foreign finance; priorities for a safe and prosperous future in an age of immense uncertainty; how will we achieve investment and growth, and will the UK proper if it goes alone?
